The United Arab Emirates was the fastest growing Middle East market for the European I.T. giant with a 367% year-on-year growth in notebook sales in the first quarter of 2006 - outpacing by more than seven fold average industry growth of 51.4%.
"These figures represent the continued development of our channel strategies and highlight the value customers place on our products," said Stephane Rejasse, General Manager Middle East, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "These positive results come hard-on-the-heels of our recently announced annual results which saw the company achieve a credible 11% growth compared to the previous fiscal year with € 6.65 billion revenue generated.
"In addition, the Middle East and Africa was the fastest growing region for Fujitsu Siemens Computers in 2005 where year-on-year revenue grew by 51%."
The German IT powerhouse's combined Middle East desktop and notebook sales also recorded above average growth with a 40.7% increase.
