Saudi to float desal corporation

Saudi's Saline Water Conversion Corporation, which manages more than 30 desalination plants, will be privatised by the end of 2006, reported Arab News. The drive to privatise desalination units in the kingdom started with a Saudi-Malaysian consortium winning a $2.4bn bid in 2005 to set up the Shuaiba-3 plant.
