During the half-day camp, a team of specialist doctors conducted a comprehensive free-of-charge health analysis of media members who went through the Lung Function Test, Blood Cholesterol & Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar and Blood Oxygen/Carbon Monoxide Tests.

The medical team's suggestions of treatment methods by electromagnetic and laser beam devices specifically drew the attention of the interested media.

Reports on blood sugar and gas content levels were given out at the end of the personalized sessions, which was supported by free consultations on appropriate treatment and advice on exercise routines.

"The camp was part of a larger campaign launched by Dubai Municipality's Clinic to raise awareness on the lethal effects of smoking, a habit which is one of the key causes of death around the world,"

said Zohour Al Sabagh, head of Clinic and Public Health Division, Dubai Municipality.

"Dubai Press Club is always eager to support initiatives of positive impact on the local society. Combating smoking is placed high on the world's health agenda. We pride our participation in this noble campaign that helps elevate the quality of people's health," said Maryam Bin Fahd, Events and Business Development Manager at Dubai Press Club.

Participants at the camp extended their gratitude to Dubai Press Club for facilitating the event and acknowledged the efforts of Dubai Municipality to increase awareness on the hazards of smoking.

Dubai Municipality Clinic has earlier conducted its mobile campaign at popular spots in Dubai including shopping malls, where the clinic's health providers offered similar medical checks to the general public, and specifically to habitual smokers.
