More than one million people from all over the world, have voted on www.msn.co.in/iifa for their favourite nominated Indian film personalities and films.
The glamorous Idea IIFA Awards is part of the 2006 IIFA Weekend and Awards, the four-day celebration of Indian cinema in Dubai from June 14-17, organized by the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) and presented by Tiara Residence, the AED 2.1 billion exclusive island lifestyle community developed by UAE-based Zabeel Investments.
Voting on the MSN website is a stringent and infallible process regulated and supervised by international audit firm PricewaterHouse Coopers (PWC), the firm that also audits The American Academy Awards, The Oscars.
The results of online voting by Indian cinema fans from across the world are collated by PWC and presenters will reveal the results of the voting on stage on June 16 at the glitzy and glamorous Idea IIFA Awards presentation ceremony. Absolute integrity and secrecy is assured by PWC, ensuring the voting process is transparent and credible.
The winners will be honoured at the grand presentation ceremony, which will be beamed to a global audience of almost a billion viewers, with broadcast partners STAR TV.
The 7th Annual IIFA Weekend and Awards in Dubai is being held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Department of Civil Aviation, Chairman of the Emirates Group and Chairman of the Supreme Committee of Dubai Shopping Festival and Dubai Summer Surprises.
Other events of the weekend include the IIFA World Premiere Film supported by Dubai International Film Festival, the IIFA Workshop sponsored by Dubai Studio City, the FICCI-IIFA Global Business Forum and the IIFA Film Festival at Grand Cineplex next to Grand Hyatt hotel.
