The success of MediaNa has prompted its creators to launch a book detailing their experiences and the vision behind the programme. It has also sparked interest from the organisers of Dubai Summer Surprises for a series of MediaNa programmes during the festival.
"Tatweer is dedicated to supporting talented young UAE nationals and committed to empowering them to help them achieve leadership positions in their chosen career. We saw MediaNa as an ideal tool to help achieve this objective,"
said Noora Al Abbar, Marketing and Communications Manager, Tatweer.
MediaNa was conceived as an innovative attempt to address the concerns and challenges media graduates must face up to when approaching leading media organisations.
MediaNa included a series of controversial interviews, conducted live at Dubai Men's College, with different nationals in the media industry, including Mohammed Harib, the first animator in the UAE and the creator of FREEJ.
In addition, MediaNa featured a discussion with Abdullatif Al Sayegh, the CEO of Arab Media Group on the issue of Emiratization, especially in the radio industry.
As well as sharing information and their experiences, MediaNa, participants had the opportunity to showcase their talents. Following the webcast four students received job offers from Tatweer, Dubai Media Incorporated and Arab Media Group.
Bill Vaygha, Director Dubai Men's College said: "MediaNa has helped bridge the gap between our students and media professionals. It has been a tremendous success and allowed the students to share their experiences and gain insights at the highest industry level."
The students behind MediaNa represent a unique ensemble of Higher Diploma graduates from the Higher Colleges of Technology, both males and females, who are currently pursuing their Bachelor's degree at Dubai Men's College in Corporate Communication & Media Management.
