British University in Dubai commends Emirates Foundation

The British University in Dubai (BUiD) has commended the Emirates Foundation for the Foundation's role in facilitating scholarship programmes for post graduate students enrolled at the British University in Dubai.

The Emirates Foundation in cooperation with Al Dar Properties and Mubadala Development Company has arranged to sponsor 19 students who are enrolled in the Information Technology and Project Management programs at the BUiD.

The commendation ceremony was attended by Ahmed Al Sayegh, , Board member and managing director of Emirates Foundation as well as members of the University's faculty. The Emirates Foundation is a new philanthropic organization in the UAE which supports and encourages initiatives in fields of education, research and development, art and culture, and social and environmental development in the emirates.

"The British University in Dubai is delighted by the support received from Emirates Foundation which will enable national students to study top quality programmes here in UAE said David Lock, Registrar and Acting Chief Executive of BUiD.

"The University offers programmes which enable students to earn Masters degrees. The courses are structured in a way that will enable graduates to make a worthwhile contribution to the development of the UAE whether it is in the public or private sector," he added.

Omar Saif Ghobash , Deputy CEO of Emirates Foundation noted that the Emirates Foundation was proud to support national students studying at the British University in Dubai. "We believe that the scholarships that we have instituted for nationals, will assist them in their chosen career paths and prepare them to be future leaders and decision makers".

The scholarship programme administered by Emirates Foundation at the British University in Dubai is funded by Mubadala Development Company and Aldar Properties.

Expressing his thanks to companies from both the government and private sector who have contributed generously to the activities of the Foundation, Ghobash hoped that participants who benefit from the scholarship programme, would serve as brand ambassadors for the Foundation in the years ahead.

Emirates Foundation is a UAE government institution founded on April 12, 2005. It aims at enhancing cooperation between private and public institutions in the UAE. The Foundation's four core areas of interests are; Education, Research and Development, Arts, Culture and Social and Environmental Development through which it supports social and scientific initiatives that impact the development of the UAE.
