Modhesh shared loads of goodies and gifts, and priceless happy memories with the children from the NBK Hospital in Kuwait, the Hamad Medical Corporation in Doha, and the Hope Centre for Children with Special Needs in Bahrain; with a final stop in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the National Home Healthcare Foundation and Disabled Children's Association in Jeddah.

"The response from the children was simply overwhelming. It just shows how Modhesh has become a source of inspiration and joy from children all over the region. You could feel their excitement and happiness every time Modhesh came into their rooms. Somehow, we felt a great sense of fulfillment for having brought at least part of the fun and excitement of the DSS which these kids would not have otherwise experienced," said Laila Suhail, DSS Executive Project Director.

Modhesh's goodwill tour was held in conjunction with the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) organised Dubai road show in GCC. The interaction with children gave Dubai's favourite summer mascot a humane aspect.

Added Laila, "To children across the region, Modhesh is a cheerful and loyal friend, always ready to bring sunshine and surprises into their lives. And this is exactly the main objective from this tour. The sight of children tightly embracing Modhesh and not letting him go was very touching. We hope to visit more cities in the future and reach out to more children thus spreading Modhesh's message of hope and fun."

Millions of tourists and residents of Dubai celebrating the annual summer extravaganza are familiar with Modhesh, who has come to symbolise the generous hospitality and warmth of the Emarati people.

Back in Dubai, Modhesh spearheads the entertainment and excitement surrounding the annual summer treat. There is a lot to look forward to this summer as DSS comes with bags full of exciting surprises for children as well as grown-ups in the form of 10 weekly themed surprises. DSS promises a power-packed summer full of exciting new events, lots of fun and of course shopping. The Summer Deals concept being introduced for the first time this year involves retail trade's participation in the DSS. It comes with an array of discounts and promotions.

A much anticipated addition to this year's festivities is a special Spas Promotion dubbed "Spas That Make You Smile All Summer" offering amazing discounted treats from the best spas in Dubai. Residents and tourists from around the world now have a chance to cool down the summer heat, get pampered in luxurious surroundings, indulge in age-old traditional treatments and enjoy a cooling massage from world-class spas conveniently located around the metropolis. And of course the Grand Dubai Summer Surprises Raffle offering a latest BMW car and cash besides the daily gold prizes as well as the cash prizes by the Dubai Shopping Malls Group is sure to grab a lot of attention from visitors and residents alike.
