The International Retail Real Estate event, held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre, celebrated the outstanding achievement of retailers and designed the special Award for Corporate Social Responsibility to pay tribute to those companies who recognize the growing importance of responsible retailing. THE One was evaluated and awarded for its CSR initiatives on many levels, including ethical sourcing of products as well as local community support and regeneration.

THE One believes retailers have a much larger role to play than merely selling stuff no-one really needs. Aside from the brand's involvement with a number of local, regional and international charities dedicated to challenged and abused children, the homeless and disadvantaged, THE One also works to help integrate physically and mentally challenged young adults into the workplace by providing weekly vocational training as well as part-time employment in THE One theatres throughout the region. They even encourage their staff to devote time at the company's expense to charitable works.

THE One feels that all businesses have a Corporate Social Responsibility to their staff, customers and communities to try to improve the world we live in. In fact, they aim to become a brand that enables communities to evolve as a by-product of their core business. Here's to saving the world.
