Jordinvest contributed to the Petra National Trust's fundraising event - the 'Abu Hassan Opera'

- PRESS RELEASE
Jordinvest Investment Trust PLC (Jordinvest) proudly sponsored the Petra National Trust's Gala Fundraising event involving the unique oriental Abu Hassan Opera by Carl Maria Von Weber, a live performance in Amman at the Royal Cultural Centre held under the Patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah.
As one of the sponsors of this event, and working alongside event organizers the French Embassy, the French Cultural Center, the Petra National Trust, the Performing Arts Center, the National Music Conservatory and the Jerash Festival, Jordinvest strove to play a pivotal role in highlighting the creative qualities that make up Jordan's cultural arena. Through extending its support for this particular event, the firm aimed to promote the Petra National Trust and the valuable work the Trust carries out, as well the work of the organizers in bringing this art form of Opera to the Jordanian community. Being a strong supporter of the cultural activities, the firm's main goal was to play an active role in placing Jordan on the world cultural map. By supporting those events that have unique and unprecedented expressive qualities, Jordinvest strove to solidify its role as a key player in the Jordanian cultural scene.
The "Abu Hassan Opera" was performed as a collaborative effort involving Jordanian and French performers and musicians, and proceeds from the performance went towards funding the Petra-based preservation projects executed by the Petra National Trust (PNT).
President of the Petra National Trust, HRH Prince Ra`ad addressed why the Opera took place in Jerash rather than Petra, explaining, "By staging one evening of the opera in Jerash instead of Petra itself, PNT hoped to emphasize the fragility of Petra and the need for its protection from the negative impact that such events have on the sandstone monuments, while giving full support to other sturdier sites in the Kingdom that are more appropriate for these types of performances."
From his end, Mr. Tantash added that Jordinvest sees itself as so much more than just a provider of investment, and financial services. "We feel that it is our duty to help in raising the level of cultural development seen in the Kingdom, and we feel that it is our social responsibility to sponsor events that in turn promise more prosperity for Jordan through the preservation of our cultural heritage," he said.
