HE The Governor of the BMA meets his counterpart in Japan

His Excellency Mr. Rasheed M. Al-Maraj, Governor of the Bahrain Monetary Agency (BMA), who is currently heading a delegation in Japan for a workshop on the development of Islamic banking in Bahrain, met on 12th June 2006 with his counterpart, His Excellency Mr. Toshihko Fukui, the Governor of the Bank of Japan.
HE Mr. Al-Maraj expressed his appreciation to the Japanese financial institutions with the development of Bahrain as an international financial centre in the Gulf region, and the development of the Islamic Banking and Finance sector in particular, the topic covered by the workshop.
At the close of the meeting HE Mr. Fukui, Governor of the Bank of Japan expressed his thanks and appreciation to HE Mr. Al-Maraj for his visit to the Bank of Japan, showing his support to the development of Bahrain as an international financial centre and the role of the BMA in developing the Islamic Banking and Finance sector. He also expressed his appreciation to the role of the political leadership of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its concern and dedication to the development of the financial sector of the Kingdom.
