"With price reductions, greater availability and affordability of recording media, DVD writers are set to take over from CD writers. These product show off our expertise in DVD recording technologies and will help us aggressively penetrate the global electronics market,"
said Manish Bhakshi, general manager, BenQ Middle East and Africa.
The DW1650 DVD writer is compatible with multiple formats and writes and reads multiple DVD (DVD+/- R/RW) and CD formats in one drive. Additionally, by utilising Double Layer technology along with DVD+R/-R DL media, users can take advantage of an increased storage capacity of 8.5GB of data per disc, or up to four hours of DVD quality video. This model is also the perfect solution for data backup as it is enabled with defect management and error correction technologies to ensure correct data storage.
The EW164B is also Solid Burn enabled and uses BenQ's exclusive Write Right Technology to maintain perfect control over the laser beam angle and the power rate being projected onto the disc, ensuring data is written at the best possible quality. Writing quality is constantly evaluated, and writing power is adjusted during the recording process to ensure optimal writing quality over the entire disc.
"The launch of Solid Burn Technology is that of historical significance. BenQ has created a breakthrough technology that significantly reduces the compatibility bottleneck for discs from different manufacturers, and therefore, ensures solid writing quality. To meet growing demands in the region, we will increase our optical storage device portfolio by introducing new DVD recorders, CD and DVD drives," added Bakshi.
