Dubai Internet City business partners explore business ties with Shenzhen companies

Dubai Internet City (DIC) last week hosted a networking event for a 36-member delegation from the Chinese city of Shenzhen.

The event gave an opportunity for Dubai Internet City's business partners to interact with a host of small and medium Chinese companies visiting Dubai to explore business opportunities in the UAE. The Shenzhen delegation included top officials like Chen Yingchun, Vice Mayor of the Shenzhen Municipal Government and officials of its trade promotion bodies.

"The delegation we hosted included heads of vibrant small and medium enterprise companies from Shenzhen, one of China's economic powerhouses," said Jamal Abdulsalam, Executive Director of Dubai Internet City. "The networking event was part of our efforts to hold events where our partners could tap new business opportunities," he added.

Shenzhen is the first of the Special Economic Zones (SEZ) of China. It is one of the largest cities in the Pearl River Delta region and the largest manufacturing base in the world.

Shenzhen is a booming city of 4.6 million people and has continued to take the lead in testing new market economy policies for the Chinese mainland. It now hosts 15% of China's IT industry and has the highest per capita income in the country.
