New York Diamond Dealers Club honours Ahmed bin Sulayem

The New York Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) recently honoured several dignitaries associated with the global diamond industry, as part of its 75th anniversary celebrations.

Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chief Operating Officer of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre and Chairman of the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) was among those honoured by the DDC for their contribution to the global diamond industry.

The award was presented by Club President Jacob Banda in the presence of international diamond industry leaders including Eli Izhakoff, honorary president of the DDC and the chairman of the World Diamond Council, Shmuel Schnitzer, president of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses; Jeffrey Fischer, president of the International Diamond Manufacturers Association; and Dr. Gaetano Cavalieri, president of CIBJO.

The DDC also presented distinguished service awards to a group of industry leaders, who have been members of the DDC for at least 50 years. The celebration included a gala dinner and an exhibition of jewellery from the 2005 HRD Awards design competition.
