UAE nurse jailed for baby death

A nurse has been sentenced to three months in jail and been ordered to pay Dhs100,000 in blood money after she caused the death of a new born baby at an Al Dhaid hospital, reported Gulf News. The Sharjah Court of First Instance heard that the woman used forceps and suction in order to deliver the baby after complications developed. The nurse had asked the parents if a caesarean section could be performed but they refused.
