The work experience scheme that will run from early July to the end of August is one of three training initiatives developed by Dubai Properties for UAE nationals.

Mohamed Binbrek, Chief Administrative Officer-Portfolio Management, Dubai Properties said: "Our greatest resource is our people. Dubai Properties is conscious of the role that nationals play in the overall development and sustainability of the UAE economy. Our internship and work placement programmes are designed to build the skills of UAE nationals, and integrate them into the property sector."

Dubai Properties has developed two customised programmes for UAE nationals.

The first, Al Tatwer, is a six-month training session to empower high school graduates with adequate knowledge and industry-specific skill sets.

The second national development programme, Al Etqan, is a one-year intensive workshop for students with Higher Diploma or Bachelor degrees.

Dubai Properties also contributes to Tanmia and Kawader, which oversees the development and education of high-school graduates through seminars and training sessions.

Binbrek said: "Our long term aim is to develop a pool of skilled and talented nationals. Participation in the Kawader and National Development programmes are just two of the initiatives that Dubai Properties supports. We plan to incorporate more innovative ideas in the implementation of our nationalisation drive."

Dubai Properties, a member of Dubai Holding, received more than 1,500 applications from experienced nationals, high school graduates, university students, and freelance job seekers during the recently concluded Careers UAE Exhibition 2006.

Suitably qualified men and women were selected and will be selected from the applicants and offered placements in DP's sales and marketing, engineering, administration and business development departments.
