Event to showcase student achievements from UAE's leading universities

Colleges and universities will participate at Fusion to 'bridge the gap' between academic achievement and student life.

The Students Freshers' programme allows students to showcase their personal achievements from art and design work to small business enterprise projects. Fusion 06 provides a unique platform for them to market and sell a business opportunity in front of a consumer audience, as well as compete against other retailers participating at the show.

'Fusion 06 targets the 18-30 age group that invariably looks for something novel to channel their talents. At this event, we have combined novelty and creativity to feed young minds with never-before expressed ideas and provide them with opportunities to both learn, equip them with real life experiences to prepare them for the work force, as well as keep themselves occupied in a fun environment,'

said Adam Taylor, Event Manager of Fusion.

He noted that the Student Freshers' Programme was being organised in association with Student Lifestyle Partner Mash-up Media. In addition to using Fusion to test a new business concept, students can come to Fusion 06 to collect valuable information for their studies, as well as gather information about a range of extra curricular activities and student clubs that they can sign up to.

A number of academic institutions in the UAE have shown a keen interest in the event and a few academic institutions including JD Fashion Institute a design school are already involved with Fusion 06.

A lot has already been achieved in the field of education however, there is need for constant updating of knowledge and skill sets to properly equip the youth to enter the workforce and assist in the country's development.

More academic institutions are expected to join in to strengthen this youth platform. 'We are positive this initiative, involving top universities and academic centres in the UAE will help students prepare themselves better for the challenges ahead,' Mr. Taylor remarked.

'Fusion 06 will provide an opportunity to interact with professionals from different backgrounds who will help youngsters look at career options from various angles providing a greater span of solutions in an interactive and informal setting,' he stressed.

Fusion 06, the first-of-its-kind event in the entire region for style-lead products and accessories, will usher in a new era in branding and retailing with its innovative concepts. The festival will feature 175 leading brands, the Ford Fashion Show Arena, the Motorola Chill Out Lounge, and free daily music and entertainment acts.
