IIFA Fashion Extravaganza raises USD75,000 for industry foundation

The IIFA Foundation Fashion Extravaganza, hosted as part of the star-studded Tiara Residence IIFA Weekend in Dubai, raise USD75,000 for the IIFA Foundation, which supports families of behind-the-scenes industry workers who have been injured or worse during the making of films.

The black-tie extravaganza at the Dubai World Trade Centre, hosted by Indian stars Dia Mirza and Suneil Shetty, also unveiled designer collections from celebrated Indian designers Manish Malhotra and Vikram Phadnis and modeled by a constellation of Indian models and film stars including Feroz Khan, Sharmukh Dawar and Aisha Takia.

The evening opened with Indian icon and IIFA Brand Ambassador Amitabh Bachchan accepting three checks of $25,000 each from IIFA co-sponsors Harshad Mehta of Rosyblue diamonds, Tauseef Khan of City Tower real estate, and Ajay Gupta of Sahara Computers towards the IIFA Foundation.

The fashion show was also preceded by performances from Sivamani, one of India's best-known percussionists, and fusion artiste Hunterz, and a live version of the popular 'Koffee with Karan' chat show hosted by director Karan Johar with celebrity guests Anil Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, Riteish Deshmukh and Katrina Kaif.

The IIFA Foundation Fashion Extravaganza was the high point of the second day of the four-day IIFA Weekend in Dubai, presented by the luxury lifestyle Tiara Residence community from Zabeel Investments.
