  • PRESS RELEASE

Landmark Group, one of the Middle East's fastest-growing retail conglomerates, announced today a comprehensive project to deploy Oracle Retail solutions in order to maximize sales and reduce costs across more than 500 retail outlets in the Middle East.

The new contract makes the Landmark Group Oracle's largest retail customer in the Middle East.

Landmark Group has in its portfolio brands such as Home Centre, Babyshop, Lifestyle, Splash, Shoemart, MAX, Max Electronics, Koton, Kappa, Aftershock, Reis, and Pablosky.

As an existing Oracle E-Business Suite customer, Landmark Group took the decision to roll out the Oracle Retail solutions that coordinate merchandise operations across the 12 major brands the company represents, provide demand-planning models to help determine what merchandize should be on the shelves and at what price, and improve customer experiences within Landmark Group shops. The company also selected Oracle Retail supply chain solution to more accurately match supply and demand across its various operations, warehouses and retail stores.

"Having achieved greater control over our back-office operations like financials and human resources functions through our Oracle E-Business Suite, Landmark Group wanted to add a retail industry-specific solution that would enable us to optimize our operations and have a more informed perspective on what we're selling where, and at what profit, so we can maximize our market reach,"

said Mr. Vipen Sethi, Group Director Finance, Landmark Group.

"As the Landmark Group continues to grow we increasingly need more sophisticated systems to manage our warehousing, merchandising and inventory for all of our outlets, we found the Oracle Retail Supply Chain Planning and Execution solution to be an ideal fit for us, as it's designed for large product assortments, multiple warehouse and store environments, and high sales volume organizations. Ultimately, Landmark Group customers are the ones who will benefit as they'll find the products they want, when and where they need them," he added.

"With the UAE being positioned as a shopping destination and an increasingly competitive retail market, it's critical that retailers differentiate themselves by having a clear picture of their operations across a multitude of locations, and ensure that they are offering the correct mix of products and price points. Landmark Group's implementation of Oracle Retail solutions makes the company's decision-makers among the very best informed in the region about exactly what consumers are buying and how to meet that demand more cost-effectively," said Arun Khehar, Oracle's Senior Director of Retail - Private & Manufacturing Industries, Oracle Middle East & Africa.
