The Pentium D processor-based PC's are equipped with two integral dual-cores for processing, to enable users to obtain flexibility and high performance while operating multimedia entertainment applications and editing digital photos.

'The benefits of having dual core processors is that the system can handle more than one thread with a separate stream of data, which will greatly increase the performance of a system that is running concurrent applications,' said Karim Fahmy, General Manager Egypt, Levant, North Africa.

Fahmy points out that home users in Egypt will benefit greatly from the dual-core processor. Not only does it provide additional improved security and improved battery life and lower component power consumption, the Intel Pentium D also provides the performance to take advantage of sophisticated gaming software which can result in realistic game environments and challenging game play.

'When combined with a digital media adaptor and a home network it also allows two users to share the content from one PC - in the same room, or even from different places in the house,' says Fahmy. 'At home one person can be checking their emails while the other uses a remote control to access digital photos stored on the same PC but viewed on a TV.'

The benefits are also similar in the office. 'Employees are now able to do more and faster,' said Fahmy. 'This is because the dual-core processors deliver a quantum leap in processing capacity without a comparable increase in power consumption, enabling home and business PC to grow their computing solutions more efficiently and at a reduced cost.'
