Young environmentalists get SWISS reward

School members of the community have been recognised by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), and Swiss International Air Lines for their considerable environmental efforts.

Swiss sponsored this event by providing two tickets to Switzerland given to the school who had the highest score for the paper and can collection campaign. Dubai GEM private school won the campaign by collecting 91,590 kg of paper and 928 kg of cans.

In addition, Ameena Mohammed Al Morinni, and Motaz Khal were awarded Best Mum and Dad of the Year for encouraging their kids to keep the environment clean.

Hazel Saldanha, SWISS' Marketing Manager, Public Relations and Customer Relations for the UAE and Arabian Gulf, said: "SWISS has a strict policy on environmental issues, and we see the work carried out by the Emirates Environmental Group as vital to raising awareness amongst the youth of the city. Educating young people on the importance of environmental issues will see better management of resources for the future."
