  • PRESS RELEASE

Dubai Internet City (DIC), the information and communications technology (ICT) hub of the region, is seeking to enhance ICT ties between the Middle East and East Asia by participating in CommunicAsia, one of the largest technology exhibitions in East Asia.

At the trade show, East Asian companies will be able to explore how Dubai Internet City can provide a strategic base for them to develop their business in the Middle East. DIC will showcase its business incentives and business support services to delegates at CommunicAsia scheduled to be held in Singapore from 20 - 23 June.

"Our participation in CommunicAsia is part of a campaign to reach out to key ICT markets across the world," said Jamal Abdulsalam, Executive Director, Dubai Internet City (DIC). "DIC provides the ideal platform for ICT companies to tap the vast business opportunities in the Middle East. East Asia has some of the most vibrant and exciting ICT companies in the world and we are keen to develop closer relationships with them," he added.

For East Asian companies new to the Middle East region, Dubai Internet City offers a temporary base from which they can explore the market. The temporary base is offered at firststeps@DIC, a facility that allows companies to lease short-term office space. This eliminates the need for the larger investments usually required to set up a full-fledged office from the very start.

DIC's parent company TECOM Investments recently opened a new office in Shenzhen in China. The new office will provide easier access for DIC-based companies to the ICT market in East Asia, offering new opportunities for partnerships and business development.
