EIDA praised for implementing secure means of proving identity

H.H. Sheik Suroor Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan has praised the population register and the ID card program as one of the most important IT projects in the Middle East.
H.H. Sheikh Suroor, accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Mohammad Bin Suroor Al Nahyan visited the Mushrif Registration Center in Abu Dhabi where they registered for the ID Card and were briefed about the latest developments on the project as well as registration procedures.
H.H. Sheikh Suroor noted how proud he is of the project as it represents one of the landmarks in the national development of the UAE. He said the project could not have been possible without the support of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and H.H. Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, as well as the members of the Higher Supreme Council, the Rulers of the Emirates, who spared no effort to support this important project.
H.H. Sheikh Suroor also said that the program will play a prominent role in developing the country and moving it to a new era of prosperity and growth. He added that the project also will provide decision makers with the necessary accurate information that is required for them to make planning decisions to guide the future development of the country.
"The design of the registration centers is outstanding and contributes to making the registration procedures smooth and easy for registrants. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all those who developed and who are implementing this project," H.H. Sheikh Suroor said.
H.E. Dr. Saeed Al Dhaheri, Director General of EIDA expressed his appreciation for the support of senior officials in the UAE who have participated actively in the ID card project.
He added that since EIDA management was assigned to work on this important project all EIDA staff have been determined to provide the best services possible. He said those services meet international standards, and will enhance the reputation of the UAE as a developed country and confirm its place as a nation that has taken the initiative on providing all of its residents with a secure and safe environment.
