Writer loses Syriana case

A French writer who claimed the Middle East-thriller Syriana plagiarised her work has lost her case, according to the BBC. Stephanie Vergniault claimed that the film, which was partly shot in Dubai, was based on her screenplay, Oversight. She claimed EUR2m in damages. But a Paris court ruled she had not provided sufficient evidence of plagiarism.
