Reflecting the burgeoning demand from consumers for the latest in lifestyle technology, BenQ's LCD televisions incorporates exclusive features such as Senseye and DCDi (Directional Correlational Deinterlacing) technology which optimises colour, clarity, motion and contrast. As the world's second largest manufacturer of LCD panels, BenQ offers exceptional value for money and, since the launch of its LCD TVs in 2004, has steadily introduced several other new models in the Middle East and Africa region.
'Football is one of the most global terms in today's world,' said Manish Bakshi, general manager, BenQ Middle East and Africa. 'There is tremendous consumer interest around the world in the game and, at BenQ, we want to give our valued customers more reason to cheer as they support their favourite teams. A four year warranty has never been offered on televisions by any manufacturer and highlights the quality of our product range. We hope to double the sales of our LCD TVs during the campaign.'
To enhance brand preference and customer loyalty, BenQ is offering free delivery and installation for its 32-inch and 37-inch models. The 37-inch TV has an unsurpassable picture quality and 176-inch wide viewing angle. This, according to Bakshi, is in line with BenQ's promise to provide the customer with high-end, stylish and, most importantly, expertly manufactured products, all at a reasonable cost.
BenQ is also participating in retail promotions organized by power retailers like Carrefour, Eros, Jacky's and Sharaf DG. At Sharaf DG, customers can avail of a unique exchange offer whereby they can sell their old TV to a Sharaf DG representative for a predetermined price and purchase a brand new LCD TV after adjusting the buy back price for the old TV. This offer has been particularly attractive for consumers keeping in mind the hassles associated with selling off second-hand goods and the low buy back value for the same in the UAE.
Analysts believe the FIFA World Cup will boost sales of new flat-panel TV technology around the world. According to German-based market research firm GfK Group, the 2002 World Cup was a powerful driving force behind sales of TVs in Europe and Asia. TV sales growth in 2002 was strongest in the two World Cup host countries, Korea and Japan, which saw an increase of 34 per cent and 21 per cent respectively.
A consumer survey carried out in May 2006 by GfK also indicated that spending will increase in the run up to this year's World Cup. In addition to increased sales for LCD and plasma TVs, other new technologies are also expected to get a boost.
