Juhaina Al Fardan, Graduate Recruitment Manager, HSBC Bank Middle East Limited delivered a presentation about the career development plan for newly recruited UAE nationals, the various training programmes offered under the umbrella of the HSBC University, and the benefits of working for an international organisation such as HSBC. The session also included a video entitled 'The Extra Ordinary Journey' about the history of the HSBC Group and how it evolved to be one of the world's largest international financial services organisations across the world.
"We believe that holding such enlightening sessions for young nationals who are about to join colleges and universities and are planning their education path, is an excellent initiative,"
said Al Fardan.
"It also posed an excellent opportunity for us not only to market HSBC as the preferred employer within the banking and finance sector in the UAE, but also to explain to those young students the world of opportunities they have whether through attending the HSBC's summer cadet programme, or as a work placement and finally a full time employee upon their graduation."
The presentation was well received by the students who took this opportunity to ask questions about working in the private sector in general and banking in particular.
Mrs Aziza Qaziha, Al Ittihad School Activity Coordinator said: "The career counseling and job opportunities presentation to our grade 11 & 12 students give our students the opportunity to get acquainted first-hand with working in large institutions such as HSBC, and assist them in choosing the right major that would pave the way for a bright and secure future.
I think that HSBC's summer cadet programme provides the combined option of employment and study, positively influencing our students' characters and instilling in them the quest for knowledge and the desire to further one's abilities through practical experience. Needless to say that this will positively impact our students and help mould their personalities to become the future leaders of this great country."
