GEMS' Schools offers education insurance programme to all GEMS' students
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, June 24 - 2006 at 13:02
- PRESS RELEASE
An innovative education insurance programme has been launched in GEMS schools that will guarantee a child education in the unfortunate event of death or permanent disability of a family's main wage earner.
On the basis of a fully refundable deposit, a child will receive free tuition until the completion of his/her schooling or up to their 20th birthday. All that is required from the student's family is a one-time deposit, which will depend on the GEMS school the child attends and based on the fee structure of that school.
In addition, parents who invest in this innovative policy will receive 2 per cent interest p.a. to be paid out annually. This means a child's education can be protected for virtually no cost to a parent.
The sheer number of GEMS students worldwide (nearly 60,000), allows GEMS to offer this insurance to parents of students in their schools, insuring them as a group. This allows families with students in GEMS' schools to enjoy benefits that would not be offered to them as individuals.
"This is a very good opportunity for parents of our students to safe guard their child's education and futures," said Ann McPhee, Director of Education, International Schools, GEMS.
The GEMS Education Protection Programme is the only one of its kind in the region. Under GEPP, coverage for the insured family member is worldwide and valid 24 hours a day. Unique features of the programme include nominated parents not having to undergo any medical check up or even show any proof of employment.
This unique school fees protection programme has been designed and implemented by GEMS Education in conjunction with GEMS' insurance advisors, Marsh Insco LLC, who are a subsidiary of the world's largest risk and insurance services company MARSH, and will be underwritten by Qatar Insurance - all in an attempt to secure the future of GEMS' students.
