The delegation, headed by Mewer Brown, Administration and International Business Development Manager - ACCA, followed up on training programs presented by the Academy for the development of accountants and assistant accountants.
'The visit is merely another step towards reinforcing mutual collaboration between the academy and the association,' said Doaa Fares, General Manager - Etisalat Academy. 'The programs that were recently organized by the academy for the development of accounting and financial cadres in the public and private sector received great interest from the international association, especially the 'CAT - Certified Accounting Technicians' programme, which is planned for regional launch by the academy in the near future.' He added.
The CAT Program comprises three levels; Basic, Moderate, and Advanced. During the program, the trainee can choose either nine preliminary courses of study or the business notes that cover financial auditing, analysis, international accounting criteria, cost, restrictions, preparation of financial reports, and other analytic and accounting related items that are crucial for all enterprises.
Etisalat Academy's trainers will deliver most of these courses through material and references that are approved by the association. Participants in this programme are over 60 where they receive the skills of developing relations with domestic and international clients.
The academy, which plays the role of the accredited center for ACCA programmes, agreed with the delegation to launch the Diploma Programme of ACCA in Financial Management during August 2006. The programme aims to enable participants to be qualified as certified legal accountants from ACCA by providing them with accountancy and financial abilities and skills.
The programme also aims to provide participants with skills that enable them to make decisions and provide others with statistics that help making effective decisions. The three-year programme includes different activities concerning tests and evaluation by both the Academy and the ACCA.
Furthermore, the academy agreed with the delegation on all the details of the programmes and their relative introduction booklets that will be promoted locally and regionally in order to invite different organizations and individuals to join these programmes, which will help improve personal and financial practices for organizations.
