Bahrain turns off radio station

Bahrain's Information Ministry has pulled the plug on the country's only privately owned radio station, reported Gulf News. Beirut based Sawt Al Ghad, which began broadcasting from Manama last October, was accused of non-compliance with an accord agreed last year. The station had been accused by its former spokesman, Mohammed Al Sherooqi, of alienating Bahraini employees.
