Mindscape participates at Software Engineering Institute's conference

This conference focuses on the practical application of established and emerging improvement methods, and demonstrates how organizations can achieve order of magnitude improvements in cost and quality. It aims to provide an essential update of the latest developments in improvement frameworks, particularly CMMI®.

Watts S. Humphrey, the founder of the Software Process Program of the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University, graced the occasion with his presence as a keynote speaker at the conference. Watts Humphrey spoke on the nature of group decisions as well as some basic principles for managing highly decentralized development work.

Region's very own, Zubair Ahmed, Head of Quality Management Group in Mindscape, was also invited to present a paper on this occasion. Zubair, in his presentation, spoke about the need of a "simple & crisp", yet "effective" approach to quality management. He emphasized that the process improvement initiatives need to be established with strong management support and can only be effective when executed with a program management approach. Zubair also reflected upon his valuable experience earned during the extensive work with PMI in 2005 for establishing the standard for Portfolio Management. Mindscape's successful journey in achieving the CMM institutionalization in a record 12 months was also presented in detail. The event was hugely successful and was attended by a cross section of audience representing Europe, Middle-East, Africa and the US.
