Jointly designed by Mr Singh and Michael Braidwood, Riffa's general manager, the programme was designed to give participants an insight into the structure of developing an effective training session for members of staff and stressed the need to ensure follow-up post-training sessions.

"Eight managers attended the programme with each representing a different department within the club," explained Michael Braidwood. "Having successfully completed the programme, Phil Jones and Colin Ferguson will now be in a position to design and deliver in-house training to the golf operations and retail staff. Likewise Sakina Abdul Aziz, our human resources administrator is now equipped to run professional, well-designed induction programmes for all new staff."

Bushra Hassan and Jassim Habib represented the golf shop staff at the training programme while Anita Ghavami will now be responsible for developing product knowledge courses and internal sales courses. Matthew Perry was there on behalf of the golf course maintenance department and Barbara Gerstmann represented the food & beverage department.

"Darshan trained the participants on how to make the best use of visual aids such as videos, PowerPoint presentations and handouts in order to gain the full attention of staff," continued Braidwood. "As part of the programme, each department representative had to prepare and deliver a training session for their staff, which was video taped and reviewed by Mr Singh."

All eight trainers are now capable of preparing and delivering training sessions to their respective staff and the whole team will meet up again on 1st October in order to review the successes and challenges of the training given. Final graduation and certification for the trainers will also be given on that date.
