The exclusive launch officially unveiled the greatest collection of supreme racing machines witnessed in the UAE and got this year's DSS celebrations well and truly in gear.
Taking place at Wafi Mall's Main Atrium, the launch of Extreme Motors brought eighty of the world's fastest racing vehicles under one roof. Guests at the launch were taken on a tour of the exhibition and had the opportunity to see Formula One legends McLaren Mercedes, Ferrari and Honda up close.
Wafi Mall teamed up with Emirates Airline to hold the Extreme Motors exhibition which will propel Wafi into the premier destination during DSS. Speeches from Abdulla Ibrahim, Director Local Affairs and Marketing, Wafi Mall and Ghaith Al Ghaith, Emirates Executive Vice President, Commercial Operations Worldwide, got proceedings underway.
'Tonight's event marks the successful collaboration between Wafi Mall and Emirates Airline, which has brought to the UAE the largest and most spectacular collection of Formula One cars, GTIs, Super Bikes and Desert Rally cars, to name but a few, to this great venue. None of which would be possible without the great support we have received from each and every sponsor. The result is a truly memorable experience for visitors to Wafi Mall and will be the highlight of this year's DSS celebrations,' said Abdulla Ibrahim, Director Local Affairs and Marketing, Wafi Mall.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Emirates Executive Vice President, Commercial Operations Worldwide, said: 'Emirates is pleased to be partnering Wafi City during DSS and we are sure the Extreme Motors exhibition will be a great crowd-puller. Emirates has been a key sponsor of the DSS since 1998, and we are proud to actively support and promote this event globally. Now one of the biggest attractions in the Middle East, DSS 2006 promises lots of fun and activities, and Wafi Mall is set to be centre attraction this year with great bargains and top-notch entertainment.'
Guest were also able to browse through a collection of F1 and super bike racing memorabilia, all personalized by top drivers and riders. In addition, Dubai Autodrome, recreated a racing strip showcasing GTIs, high speed Radicals and Super Stock 600 bikes along one of the mall's impressive thoroughfares.
Wafi Mall will be hosting a range of racing inspired competitions and events throughout the ten week motoring extravaganza including competitions for the fastest Scalextric laps completed on Wafi's tailor made track sponsored by Dodge and the chance to own a piece of racing history at a charity auction, with proceeds providing funds for the 'Emirates Foundation'.
To see the largest gathering of world class racing vehicles in the UAE visit Wafi Mall until September 2nd. Opening times of Wafi are daily from 10am to 10pm and 4.00pm to 10pm on Fridays.
Extreme Motors Exhibition - officially launched
Wafi Mall's much anticipated Extreme Motors exhibition was officially opened by HH Sheikh Maktoum Bin Hasher Al Maktoum, on Monday 26th June at an event attended by Saeed Al Nabouda, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Summer Surprises, and a host of dignitaries and VIPs from Dubai's motor industry.
