Wagamama's migration from the consumer PDAs to Symbol's more rugged, robust and cost-effective mobile computers has streamlined the order taking process by enabling wait staff to record orders and transfer them via their wireless network, to the kitchen to reduce customer wait time and provide uninterrupted service in the dining area. The Symbol solution has also eliminated errors often resulting from poorly handwritten orders, resulting in increased employee productivity and an improved customer experience.

"The speed of service in a restaurant is highly dependent on our mobility," said Jerry Marks, operations manager, Wagamama UK. "Mobilising our staff with Symbol's PPT8846 mobile computers has afforded our employees more time to spend with customers, thereby increasing the potential for more business and improved customer satisfaction."

Since deploying Symbol's rugged mobile computers, Wagamama has experienced a significant reduction in device downtime for repair as well as a dramatic reduction in overall maintenance costs.

"Symbol's mobile computers provide customers in the hospitality industry with features and functionality to meet the demanding needs of their fast-paced environments,"

said Tarek Hassaniyeh, sales manager, Symbol Technologies Middle East. "Wagamama's deployment of the PPT8846 mobile computer demonstrates the versatility and lower total cost of ownership of Symbol's rugged, enterprise class products and our continued efforts to improve both employee productivity and the customer experience."

"The hospitality sector in the Middle East is highly competitive, and differentiation relies very much on building a reputation for luxury, elegance and superior customer service. We have worked with several F & B outlets in the region and have helped them successfully address their most strategic priorities: expand their services, improve their guest loyalty and bolster profitability."
