All clothes were provided to the children and staff helped them choose their favourite colour and right size.

"We hope the children enjoy wearing Giordano for their trip. It is only a small gesture from our side but we hope the outfits will add colour and cheer to their tour," said Ishwar Chugani, Executive Director for Giordano Middle East.

The mission of Make-A-Wish Foundation International, a charity organization founded in 1980 in the US and now spread over 30 countries, is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses.

The Foundation's UAE branch was approached by Dr. Essam Dohair, one of the world's leading authorities on Thalassaemia and a doctor at the Al Wasl Hospital, to arrange an exciting trip for the children at the hospital's Genetics and Thalassaemia Centre. The Foundation agreed to fly out eight of the children to Disneyworld in Florida, Orlando. All Emiratis, the children are aged between 11 and 18.

"The Make A Wish Foundation does incredible work in bringing a little bit of extra quality to many young lives. This trip will help raise awareness for Thalassemia here in the UAE, and educate people to the needs of those who suffer with it every day," added Chugani.

The children will be accompanied by seven support staff.

"These children lead tough lives with blood transfusions every two to three weeks. We hope this trip will bring them great joy and memorable experiences to cherish," said Make-A-Wish volunteer Muhammed Ali, who will also accompany the children.

While in Orlando, the children will visit Disneyworld, Seaworld and Universal Studios and live at the Give Kids The World resort in Kissimmee, Florida.
