Zebra upgrades QL Plus and RW series for faster printing and greater security
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, June 28 - 2006 at 15:23
- PRESS RELEASE
Zebra Technologies, the provider of global on-demand printing solutions, has launched 802.11g wireless LAN options for Zebra's QL Plus series and RW series mobile printers.
New 802.11g networks are up to five times faster than existing 802.11b networks, offer solid signal range and support more users simultaneously. Although 802.11g networks are compatible with 802.11b devices, maximum wireless performance is obtained when all devices on the network support the faster protocol.
The Zebra Value Radio, 802.11g - offered on Zebra's QL Plus series now, and RW series mobile printers later in July - enables Zebra mobile printers to support the same speed and security that companies invested in when selecting 802.11g equipment for their networks.
"The advanced 802.11g wireless option is yet another example of Zebra's leading-edge wireless expertise," said Paul Garner, Zebra Technology's Dubai based Regional Sales Manager for the Middle East, India and South Africa. "This new option allows Zebra to further meet the mobile label and receipt printing requirements of large retailers, manufacturers, and healthcare organisations."
The Zebra Value Radio 802.11g supports 802.11i, VPN, and WPA/WPA2-Enterprise standards to ensure maximum data security. WPA2-Enterprise encrypts data with IEEE's Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and verifies the identity of network users through Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP).
Such enterprise-level security platforms enable Zebra 802.11g Value Radio to support a variety of mobile applications, including point of sale, price markdowns, warehouse labelling, and more.
