"Ensuring security is a job in itself for many of our customers, and we want to offer them a package that covers all aspects of email and web security and takes away the administration burden. Research shows that the security services sector is growing at 44 per cent a year, so this can be a lucrative space for resellers. We are developing a strong network of partners to service this rapidly growing market, as there is room for considerable revenue growth in this space,"
said Justin Doo, managing director, Trend Micro, Middle East and Africa.
Logicom will roll out Trend Micro's 'Worry-Free Security' initiative, aimed at helping smaller businesses in the Middle East with little or no IT support overcome the challenge of securing their networks, in the Levant. The 'Worry-Free' solutions have been specifically designed to fit the requirements of the smaller organisation, providing a solid security package that is easy to manage and maintain. The company will also help Trend Micro in its enterprise partner recruitment programmes.
"The Middle East market for IT suppliers is growing steadily year-on-year, which means that clients want to invest in technology that will grow with their needs. Competition in the enterprise and mid-market space is becoming quite fierce among international IT suppliers, with more companies chasing an ever-growing Middle East communications-reliant market," said Michael Papaeracleous General Manager of Logicom (Middle East) SAL and Executive Director of Distribution of the Logicom Group. "Trend Micro has established a strong position in the Anti Malware market space. Its solutions will complement our existing portfolio and we will benefit from the company's professional approach, sales support and training."
"We believe this partnership, with Logicom's existing channel breadth, is an important one for us in developing a route-to-market capable of servicing the SMB market segment," commented Doo. "Logicom has built up a solid business model with vendors such as Microsoft and Cisco and we are keen for them to now develop a healthy run rate business for Trend Micro's SMB (small and medium business) solutions."
