Etihad adds services to Khartoum

Etihad Crystal Cargo introduced cargo operations to Khartoum in July 2005, serving the Sudanese capital three times a week with one of its regional Airbus A300-600RF, offering a capacity of up to 44 tonnes on each flight.

The additional services added by Etihad Airways will operate three times a week -Monday, Wednesday and Sunday - offering a belly-cargo capacity of up to 14 tonnes at a full passenger load in an Airbus A330-200.

"It is now one year since Etihad Crystal Cargo started its freighter flights to Khartoum. Looking back at our first year, our capacity was well utilized, with high payloads being recorded and our services being well received by our customers," said Ingo Roessler, VP Etihad Crystal Cargo.

With the three additional Guest services, Etihad Crystal Cargo will change its freighter schedule from three to two times a week, freeing cargo capacity for new opportunities. Furthermore, Addis Ababa will be added once a week to the freighter rotation, serving Abu Dhabi - Khartoum - Addis Ababa - Abu Dhabi.

Etihad Crystal Cargo is working with Dhala Forwarding & Clearing Ltd. in Khartoum, the company which is successfully taking care of Etihad's cargo sales and services since Etihad Crystal Cargo started its freighter operations.

Outbound, Etihad Airways' flight EY611 departs Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) at 14:05 arriving at the Civil Airport in Khartoum (KRT) at 17:05. The return flight departs Khartoum at 18:20, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 23:05.
