Grasp the Arab television market with Comtrax Solutions latest studies

"These two studies show that contrary to common assumption, the number of Arab television channels is going to continue to boom, driven mostly by pay television and an increase of North African private ventures" Jihad Bitar, Comtrax Solutions General Manager, was quoted as saying during a presentation meeting to Arab television executives.

"Snapshot of the Pan-Arab Satellite Television Market - SPASM 2006", is a ground breaking study that is the first real effort in the Middle East to collect data on all Pan-Arab satellite channels. The study shows that at the end of April 2006, the Arab viewer had access to 253 Arab channels, of which 31% were general interest, 12% music and 9% sports. By comparing Channels Reach to European standards, the authors of the study make the point that there still is a large room available for new Arab television channels.

In "Arab Country Television Benchmark 2006", Comtrax Solutions benchmarks the different Arab countries based on television ownership, broadcasting platform and GDP. The study shows that even though Saudi nationals own 45% of all pan-Arab channels, Lebanon, Qatar, UAE and Bahrain lead the Arab world in relative ownership weighted to their respective GDP.
