The Marina Residence concept in Al Bandar will be a mix of residential, retail and transport design. The residential offering will consist of stylish modern apartments ranging from studios through to 4 bedroom family homes. The surrounding apartments will be complemented by 5,000sqm of waterfront retail and F&B units and a central ferry terminal from where water taxis will serve other precincts and the main city of Abu Dhabi.
ALDAR Chairman Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh explained:
"The design of this central precinct is key to the overall Al Raha Beach project. The Al Bandar Marina will be the focal point for the water transport around the development and will be home to the main ferry and water taxi terminal. This water transport system is key to the success of this spectacular new waterfront city and something which will set it apart from other developments in the UAE."
Broadway Malayan were chosen as the architects to design Al Bandar precinct because of their experience in designing residential waterfront developments around the world. Projects they have designed include: Valecentre Venice, Queens Quay Belfast, Old Quay Runcorn and Albufeira Park Portugal.
Construction will commence in March 2007.
