DCCI discusses trade relations with Turkmenistan

Abdul Rahman G. Al-Mutaiwee, Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry received yesterday Murad Nyazof, the son of Turkmenistan's President.

During the meeting, the trade and economic relations and ways of developing them with the Republic of Turkmenistan were discussed.

Al-Mutaiwee said that, "the UAE in general and Dubai in particular, have many things in common islamically, culturally and socially that push us forward to expand and develop the bilateral economic and trade relations."

"This objective cannot be achieved without executing a portfolio of proposals including the launch of Emirates Airline flights to Turkmenistan's capital of Ashgabat, elevating the joint visits and widening Turkmenistan's participation in the international trade exhibitions organized in Dubai annually, in addition to opening a Consulate in Dubai."

Nyazof said that Turkmenistan's government and people look forward to expanding and developing economic and trade ties with Dubai. He said that his country would take the initiative and preliminary steps in opening a consulate in Dubai.
