The opening of the DFC NewsCentre is also the re-launch of News Centre in its new alerting red and silver look. Ibad Ahmadi explained: "We are introducing a uniformed look in all our outlets, and the DFC one is the first. All new stores will have interiors in signature deep red, silver and white tones, making the stand vibrant and communicating a sense of urgency and importance. We have also included a logo change - one that is trendy and current, in keeping with the theme.
"The previous NewsCente design, although very attractive in appearance, did not depict the new age, upbeat feel we successfully managed with the new outlet. We feel the new concept will be extremely successful among end users as it can be easily identified."
Each of the NewsCentres will be fitted with 32" plasma screens to allow customers to keep up with the news while they are in the store. The location of a NewsCentre has always been crucial to the success of the store. The business development team at NTDE, who is responsible for overseeing the NewsCentres, is presently engaged in expanding the NewsCentre network to other locations within the UAE.
