Alcatel, Sony Ericsson out of Iran

French telecom company Alacatel and electronics giant Sony Ericsson have withdrawn from the Irancell consortium, which is organising the establishment of the country's second mobile operator, reported the Iran Daily. Nokia and its Iranian partner, the Takfam Company, are believed to have won the tender according to the ISNA. Ericsson cited high import tariffs as its reason for pulling out of the discussions.
