Damas, the world renowned jeweller says Mikimoto's magical pearl collections offer the perfect summer accessory for discerning women in the region.
While all set to unleash excitement among jewellery connoisseurs is Mikimoto's new and exciting 'Over the Silk Road Yajima Collection', which recently enjoyed a dramatic debut at BASELWORLD 2006. Soon to available at Damas stores, it's a stunning line of unique jewellery pieces such as golden robes, pendants, rings and brooches, collection was designed by its chief designer Tomohiro Yajima, who drew inspiration from the widely diverse beauty of the fabled route during his travels in the region.

'Over the Silk Road' - a royal spread
Titled Goddess, this is a golden robe fit for a queen! A one-of-a-kind piece, in Akoya pearls, Nacre of silver-lip pearl oyster, diamonds and 18 k yellow gold,it was inspired by the famous Acropolis, in Athens, where gentle pleats of a stone robe adorn a statue of a Grecian goddess from Hellinistic times
A ring that's a royal seal of approval, Alexander's Dream displays a brilliant blue tanzanite, reminiscent of the famous emperor who embarked on his conquest in a mantle of noble blue. The gleam of a kingly throne is supported by palmettes in the style of ancient Greece accessing the finest diamonds, and 18 k yellow gold.
A charming feather brooch arching endearingly, Safavid Breeze II was inspired by the Safavid Dynasty of Persia and brings together Akoya pearls, diamonds, 18 k yellow gold and 18 k white gold. While the Cave of Worship II brooch moves on to Cappadocia, Turkey, and it's cave churches with patterned frescoes. Adorned by a bewitching half-moon, in gold-lip pearl, Akoya pearls, Nacre of gold-lip pearl oyster, diamonds and 18 k yellow gold.
As a bold and contemporary pendant, Gleaming Passages II is an openwork interpretation of the mystic fylfot, with motifs inspired by Ephesos, traced in delicate pique inlay, bringing together Nacre of black-lip pearl oyster, diamonds, 18 k yellow gold, dangling its temptation on a deep black leather necklace.
And much sought after this season in a bewitching spread of necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings, is Mikimoto's Elements of Life 'Ocean' collection which sees Mikimoto blend graduated shades of blue sapphires with white pearls in a tribute to water's vital presence in our lives while its 'Fire' line is dramatic and symbolic of the dynamic element, expressed in graduated shades of pink sapphires and Tahitian black cultured pearls.
Mikimoto's superb 'Elements of Life' Ocean and Fire lines are all available at Damas Les Exclusives Boutiques in Burj Al Arab, Wafi City, Mall of the Emirates and on Al Maktoum Road.
