Syria, $720m trade surplus

Syria's trade surplus hit $720m in 2005, with oil accounting for 70% of exports, according to a statement by Damascus Chamber of Commerce cited by Gulf Daily News. Syria's crude exports of 200,000 bpd are expected to dry up by 2010, and experts say the country will have to find other revenue sources.
