- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, July 06 - 2006 at 15:43
- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Summer Surprises has not only revitalised the retail sector during the summer months but also transformed the lifestyles and shopping experience of many families during this time of the year with a range of free activities and prize-linked promotions.
Since the start of DSS, many families from neighbouring GCC countries have been making a bee-line to the mall, predominantly Arab women and children who find it the perfect place to shop and spend their summer vacation in a relaxed setting.
Commenting on the DSS programme at the mall, Mukta Sabharwal, a spokesperson for Al Ghurair City, said, "DSS has given participating malls an opportunity to be actively involved in generating excitement for families, who constitute the bulk of the visitors. Our basic aim is to keep families and children visiting Al Ghurair City during the DSS months entertained. As Al Ghurair City is a magnet for families, we are once again expecting this segment of shoppers to make a positive impact on footfall and sales at the mall during this time of the year."
Al Ghurair City is hosting numerous fun activities in addition to offering a range of the world's best brands covering a wide range of merchandise including fashion, jewellery, watches and textiles, plus a variety of food catering to different tastes at its multi-cuisine food court.
The line-up of activities has been arranged to provide families a fun atmosphere during each DSS "Surprises" including a music studio where children can showcase their entertaining skills, and cartoon characters, interactive science booths, ice cream competitions, and much more.
Al Ghurair City is offering DSS shoppers spending a minimum of Dh200, or multiples thereof, the chance to win up to Dhs5 million in prizes under the Shopping Escapade promotion organised by the Dubai Shopping Malls Group. Lucky shoppers can win Dhs. 50,000 daily and a grand prize of a luxury apartment at the end of DSS in September.
