DFSA tackles boiler room scam

The Dubai Financial Services Authority intervened in a scam involving an unregistered Japanese investment firm, Charles Fleming and Company, last April, reported Gulf News. Two UAE investors sought the DFSA's help after being the victims of a boiler room scam, which use high pressure, phone sales techniques, and investing Dhs100,000 and Dhs40,000 respectively in an unlisted firm. The DFSA contacted their Japanese counterparts and the firm was subsequently closed down.
