The agreement will also allow sharing of resources, information, and mutual consultation between Tatweer and Dubai Municipality to streamline development activities, overcome potential problems and ensure projects' compliance with Tatweer's goals and DM's regulations.
Engineer Hussein Nasser Lootah, Deputy Director General, Dubai Municipality, said:
"The agreement will facilitate mutual cooperation between both parties, at the planning, construction and architectural levels."
"It will oversee the procedures that need to be considered when taking Tatweer's strategic plans into consideration. This includes finding common ground to ensure projects are managed and supervised correctly.
"Tatweer is one of the biggest organizations investing in Dubai's infrastructure. The MoU will speed up the development process, while maintaining the quality and excellence standards Dubai is renowned for."
"We will create a joint committee responsible for overseeing Tatweer and Dubai Municipality's plan. It will be tasked with ensuring the agreement operates smoothly and effectively," added Lootah.
Commenting on the significance of the agreement, Saeed Al Muntafiq, CEO of Tatweer said: "The initiative will benefit current as well as future developments. Tatweer will be responsible for ensuring that all projects comply with Dubai Municipality's regulations. It will also be involved in reviewing Dubai Municipality's project analysis."
Al Muntafiq added that Dubai Municipality's rich and varied experience in urban planning and client servicing will add to Tatweer's learning curve.
Tatweer will submit specifications for all designs, infrastructure, road plans, residential units and landscaping to Dubai Municipality for review and assessment.
The recommendations offered by Tatweer and Dubai Municipality will subsequently pass through a specialised approval system for final evaluation and authorisation of plans.
The collaboration between Tatweer and DM is in line with Dubai's vision of enforcing high quality standards within its developmental projects.
