Rent hikes in Fujairah

A shortage of available property and steep rental increases have become a problem for residents in Fujairah, reported Gulf News. Although a number of real estate projects are now under development, rents have increased by well over 20% and some modern one bedroom apartments have seen rises of around 50%. The local municipality is working on a new law to protect tenants against inflated rent hikes.
