The Modhesh City is an ongoing initiative of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) to support the holistic development of children's creative abilities.

Laila Suhail, DSS Executive Project Director, welcomed the children at Modhesh City.

"Modhesh City seeks to continuously establish channels of communication with communities, clubs, school children and associations. We are glad the Kids Press Club children had the opportunity to enjoy the new set of innovations in Modhesh City this year," said Laila.

Eleven-year old Esraa Tariq Al Mutawa, a KPC participant, said: "Our trip to Modhesh Fun City was part of a report we are working on for Kids Press Club. It was a lot of fun. All of us at the summer programme belong to different age groups and come from different schools, so the trip gave us a chance to get to know our new friends better."

Nearly 40 children in the age group of 10-15 years are participating in the DPC summer programme, running from 2-20 July.

Maryam Bin Fahad, Events Manager, Dubai Press Club said, "With every year, DPC's summer programme for children is gaining popularity. This year we had to increase the number of participants, given the large number of applications that we received."

Integrating diverse media-related skills into the format, Kids Press Club invites leading professionals to provide guidance on writing press releases, conducting interviews, and handling the camera for media-specific photographs.

Visits to media organisations such as newspapers, television and radio stations are included as part of the KPC programme to enhance the children's in-house learning experience, and help them understand the administrative and technical aspects of the media business.

Kids Press Club 2006 is supported by Dubai Summer Surprises.
