The seventh edition of Hometech Middle East took place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre in May 2006 and was opened by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Aviation and Chairman of the Emirates Group.
Many exhibitors were extremely satisfied with the show; Hometech in 2006 enjoyed 4877 visits from key trade buyers from 53 countries. Visitors came from across the Middle East, Africa, India and the Sub-Continent as well as from further afield. Heiko Fisher, Managing Director for Bosch Siemens Home Appliances stated at the show that Hometech is:
"A well organised show addressing the increasing number of GCC professionals from the domestic related industries. Hometech has great potential as the leading exhibition of this kind within the region. We met various cooperation partners and made promising contacts."
The organisers were especially pleased with the quality of the visitors that the show attracted. 70% had final authority to make a purchasing decision, whilst in total 94% of all visitors surveyed stated that their opinion was either most important or equally important in any final purchase.
Architect Khalifa Al Jaziri, the Managing Director for e-Home Automation, stated that:
"There was a great deal of interest in our stand, we can envisage a great deal of potential business from the contacts we have made at Hometech 2006; we will definitely be returning next year."
During the 3 day show H.E. Sheikh Hasher n Maktoum Al Maktoum, Director General, Department of Information, Government of Dubai visited the e-Home Automation's stand, requesting a private demonstration.
Visitors, who were also independently surveyed, were impressed with the range of products and services on show, with 84% coming across a new product that they felt would be of interest to them in the future.
The show bought together the major players within the industry including BOSCH, GE Appliances, LG Electronics Inc, Dyson and Gaggennau, who all expressed positive comments about the show.
Exhibition Manager Melissa O'Gorman said, "I am delighted by the response of the 2006 show and envisage a positive and exciting future for Hometech. The dates for 2007 have already been set for the 13 - 15th May, and with 90% of the visitors stating that they intend to return next year, we're sure to have an even better 2007!"
