Mr. Jamal Bin Ghalita, General Manager, Corporate Center at Emirates Bank Group said,
“We are very pleased to announce the launch of Emirates Bank Group Diploma in Business Leadership (DBL) program. This program is conceived to develop future leaders in our Group on a continuous basis and aims at equipping our managers with general management capabilities to lead teams and businesses in pursuit of reinforcing the position of our Group as a leading financial services provider in the GCC.'
Emirates Bank Group has engaged Duke Corporate Education (Duke CE) and the Coaches Training Institute (CTI) to design and deliver the DBL program in 2006-07 for a group of 20 managers. Duke CE (part of Duke University, North Carolina) was created to provide intensely customized corporate education focused on helping companies achieve their business objectives. It has been ranked number 1 globally for the last four years (2003 – 2006) by the Financial Times (FT) for customized executive education programs. Business Week also ranked Duke CE #1 in their biennial surveys in 2005 and 2003.
The Coaches Training Institute (CTI) based in California is the world’s largest trainer of executive coaches. CTI offers the most comprehensive and effective program on the globe for creating sustainable development in emotional intelligence competencies (which accounts for two-thirds of the competencies that differentiate between great leaders and average leaders).
Mr. Bin Ghalita concluded, “We are confident that Emirates Bank Group’s partnership with Duke CE and CTI will deliver a world class leadership development program. EBG is amongst the first corporation in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) banking sector that is embarking on a leadership development initiative of this magnitude.
The program design will incorporate four core modules, Strategic Management, Functional Management, Leadership Effectiveness, and Self-Management. The program duration will be one year and will consist of class-room based training, post-course individual and team coaching and team based action learning projects.
